Review Room

According to the CCAA's official website, dossiers received through July 2006 are now out of review. Which means that the August 2006 dossiers are in review right now. I've heard of a few families who have either had to answer further questions or submit new or updated documentation. We've not heard anything yet - I guess no news is good news. I will begin breathing properly again once I hear that August has completed the reviews. Then we just sit and wait to be matched...

It's good to know there are others out there who totally "get it". Thanks. ; )

I'm confused...we are logged in 9/20/06...we are no where near getting a match! Have I missed some info somewhere???

Confused,
Kim

Kim, the Review Room is where the CCAA folks go over each dossier with a fine-tooth comb. Any red flags, problems or questions are addressed there. Then the reviewed dossiers go to the Matching Room for matching with our children. So if you're DTC 9/20/06, your batch will be in the matching room soon! It's just another step closer to our girls!

Amy, there is so much that has changed in the world of China adoption since we began our first adoption process back in 1998(!). I find out a lot of what's going on by visiting the Rumor Queen's site (http://chinaadopttalk.com) - she sorts through all the buzz and chatter, and rates rumors on reliability. She posts when referrals are on the way and by the time she rates a rumor as being reasonably reliable, she's right on. There are also lively discussions in the comments, but I tend to stay away from those - they are often more frustrating than helpful.
Regarding the new rules that went into effect in May 2007, had they been in place when we started our first adoption process, we would only have one child instead of waiting for our fourth. Breaks my heart...

Thanks so much for the info! I understand now. With this being our first adoption, I am still learning how everything works.

So, how much longer do we have to wait...are you thinking another year?

Sigh! Kim, If things continue as slowly as they have been, I'm preparing myself (my heart, actually) for another two year wait at least. (Gosh, I don't even like to see that in print!)
Drop me an e-mail and we can "chat" more!

We'll be praying with you as you wait. This is hard, isn't it! Our Russian adoptions--back 10 years ago--had so many stops and starts! God is faithful, and we have to trust.
