Monday evening, after our third Peking duck meal on this trip (!), Al played the piano for us in the hotel lobby. He makes it a point to play the piano in every hotel we stay in. Sometimes the staff is a little hesitant to allow it, but after he begins to play, they happily invite him back each night!
The hotel lobby is beautiful, with little carp swimming around in pretty pools. Problem is, it's just so cold all the time, even indoors. I am hoping we see a bit of a break in the weather before we head to Guangzhou. I'd like to experience just a bit of sun here in Taiyuan!
